Korean Drama - Bad Guy

I normally don't watch anything else except romantic comedies, but this one made it into my "not bad" list eventhough there is absolutely no comedy whatsoever in this one.

Starring:

Kim Nam Gil as Shim Gun Wook  - hmmmm first impressions, this guy did not appeal to me at all.

Han Ga In as Moon Jae In - ooo this one is pretty thing, but she looked much prettier in Witch Yoo Hee

Kim Jae Wook as Hong Tae Sung  - this guy is absolutely DELICIOUS! soooo cute, he's one worth watching. Seen him in  "Mary Stayed up All Night" and he's a total cutie.......~~

  - did not upload any pic for tae ra
Oh Yun Soo as Hong Tae Ra

Jung So Min as Hong Mo Ne - She's pretty cute in "playful kiss" and have a totally different character in this one.

This drama is pretty interesting and it is a step out of my normal romantic comedy. It's a serious drama with one of those revengeful plots. It's weirdly interesting because Kim Nam Gil's character is a strangely mystifying and oh-so mysterious man. Something seems to be wrong with him, a dark side to him. So this rather "dark force" seems to draw me to watch every episode. I must comment the script is rather well written and each episode is a new chapter that draws to watch the next one.

Kim Nam Gil is to portray a sexy man and he does a good job here especially the first few episodes where he is a stuntman. Really sexy.

Nothing boring here. And my eye candy is Kim Jae Wook. I root for him to be with Han Ga In, but of course, Kim Nam Gil gets the girl.

BUT BUT BUT----poor ending

The ending sucks! It's a complicated, absurd mix of an ending where everyone is left dark and lonely, full-on emptiness and with big gaping holes in their hearts! It just leaves the rest of your day dark and gloomy. So if you don't mind gloominess, go for it! Of course, death is not missed out, so grave.

Highly recommended as a serious drama, but not recommended because of the very gloomy complicated ending.

Points i'd give: 6 out of 10 points (lowered because of the ending)

Korean drama - Coffee House

Starring:

Kang Ji Hwan as Lee Jin Soo

Park Si Yeon as Seo Eun Young

Ham Eun Jung as Kang Seung Yeon (Remember her from Dream High? i think she's really good)

AAAArgggh! i actually really really liked this drama (episodes 1-8), but when the plot seem to drift more and more away from what i expected, i didn't have the heart to continue.....
What happened was, i thought the female lead was Ham Eun Jung because that was the way it was portrayed in the beginning episodes. So it would only be natural that the final romance would lead to the male lead, being Kang Ji Hwan, finally falling for the supposedly lead female, which i assumed was Ham Eun Jung.

Well, i must say , must say that the first few episodes were really really hilarious and i thought i hit another to- be- classified fave dramas! Ham Eun Jung is so clumsy and so adorably cute, and Kang Ji Hwan is such a good actor being an eccentric, bordering-on-craziness novel writer. Whoaa! the things that he would have her do as a secretary are so so so hiliarious. I could not stop watching! It really is that good! I was having lunch watching the episodes and i was laughing so hard all the food could not be swallowed.

But when the plot begin to steer heavily toward Park Si Yeon, i begin to get weary. Isn't Ham Eun Jung the female lead and that she would eventually be THE girl?? I then googled others' reviews on coffee house and found that Park Si Yeon is the female lead.  EEEEEwwwww, so i had to give up from episode 10 onwards.

I can't stand it that the male lead will be opting for Park Si Yeon while my beloved Ham Eun Jung will be shoved aside.

I would've given this drama 9 out of 10 points if it weren't for for Park Si Yeon.

what a bummer!

For those who are not as particular as i am on who gets the guy or who is the REAL female lead, give this drama a go, it's hilarious (the beginning).

Gmarket haul 5

More Gmarket stuff.

Received 1st april or somewhere there.

Pics are up now.

The very large EMS parcel box

With smaller sealed unopened boxes sent from the multiple of seller on gmaret

i had good results with the coreana nokdu peeling gel so i decided to try out more from the same line. Here's the  sheet masks (6500 won for 5 sheets)

And the gel pack from the same line. Supposed to be a moisture pack.

Fell in love with the chae eum toner hauled up in my last haul. So i decided to give the whole set a try. This is the mini sized set with toner, lotion, serum and cream. All for dry skin. Unfortunately, i only liked the toner, so i'm glad i did not get the full sized products.

Suiskin aqua drop mask. this is a moisturising mask and it's more a like a gel cream. Not heavy at all, in fact it is pleasant to use. Quite expensive though 22000 won for 100ml tub.
The rest are small samples given by the seller.

Bought more sum 37's stuff: white luminous treatment, and secret programming essence. The mask sheet is a gift.

This is the BEST SELLER!! i only bought the ElishaCoy newly launched snail cream and the rest is free! It was only 22000 wons for the snail cream. Very good deal.
free: snail mask x2, snail eye patch  x2, collagen mask x1, and diamond BB cream x1

Sample sized stuff: laneige waterbank essence, sum 37 white award clear toner, sum 37 white award recharging luminous cream (newly added product to the sum 37 white award line).
And i decided to try the entire sum37 waterfull line since i really liked the waterfull cream. So here's the eye serum, face serum, gel lotion, and skin refresher.

The 4ml tub of whoo's whitening intensive was not enough for my pigmented skin so had to stock up more of it. Moreover, the intensive has now been upgraded so it's great excuse to haul in more!

These are sum37 sample gifts from the seller:
white award detox mask  - this is really cute cream like mask, where you have to apply slightly thicker. Once applied it bubbles up and foams up like an oxygen mask. however, maybe i applied too much so it took forever for the foams to disappear. i waited like 40minutes!! This mask is supposed to moisturise, cleanse and brighten.

Sum37 losec reviving cream- i'm not too sure what this cream is for

Sum 37 1102 time control cream - i already bought a 1102 set earlier, so this is just the cream

Newly upgraded sum37 white award luminous recharging cream in sachet form.

History of whoo's whitening lotion, and sum37 clear toner in sample bottles.

Very good to use sum37 waterfull gel lotion and skin refresher in sample bottles.

Very luxuriant cream- history of whoo's gongjinhyang cream in sample tubs.

Gmarket haul 4

umMy oh my, Gmarket is too addictive.
Better be warned that once you start you cannot stop! so if you want to save your $$, don't start going to gmarket! haha

Received this in late march 2011.................

Haul pics: huge gmarket box.

Aaargh, i was taxed in this haul..............how frustrating!!! i guess you just can't run away.

It opens up to smaller boxes sealed and packed inside:

Got myself some Skin 79 Gold oriental plus items: concealer, bb cream, BB sunpact, total power cream, and last but not least total power cream. These are all rather cheap on gmarket so its worth a shot.

Next up, my beloved history of whoo gongjinhyang basic set and sum 37's 1102 extreme time control set.
Both of which are meant for anti-ageing (includes wrinkle control and firming up) and also its meant to be moisturising.
The gongjinhyang set: qi jin balancer , lotion, essence, eye cream, face cream (miniature sizes)
Sum 37 1102 extreme time control set: toner, lotion, youth activator essence, youth activator night cream, 1102 face cream (miniature sizes).................... can't wait can't wait to use and give my opinion!

Next up, secret key's strobe cream. It's supposed to be similar to MAC's strobe cream, giving off a shiny/dewy appearance. this acts like a make up base and has some hydrating function to it. It comes in a shiny white lotion texture.

Taken from secret key's official website, customer posted their reviews: www.secretkey.co.kr

Also got O. series P (Penta serum) from MBskin. This is a serum for acne care, troubled skin, oily skin. Free EGF masks were given.

More whitening stuff. This time from Sum37: White award essence lotion, 2 small bottles of luminous treatement. The short round-ish tub on the left is History of Whoo's whitening intensive for freckles and pigmentation. Hope it works!

Also, Sum37's white radiance awards cream (4 small tubs in the plastic bag) and the blue tub with gold cap is my fave sum37's waterfull cream. This cream hydrates very well without being a burden.

Shue uemura's phyto-black lift cream in sample size, laurier mercier oil free tinted moisturiser in sample size, and estee lauder's double wear light sample size foundation in intensity 0.2 (this was unfortunately too yellow for me, but the coverage and texture is excellent).

Makeup forever's HD primer in sample size. Pretty good stuff.

A mixture of stuff: history of whoo's sleeping repair (gold pieces in plastic bag), coreana nokdu's peeling gel (RHS of the sleeping repair), history of whoo's bichup ja saeng essence (the bottom most), hannule's chae eum line toners (2 blue bottles). The rest are sample gifts.
The bichup ja saeng essence is reaaaally good. It clears up the complexion and gets rid of gunk in the skin. So this is a good option for troubled skin with acne/clogged pores etc.

Korean drama Tamra, the Island

Tamra the island!! Korean drama -can't get enough of Im Ju hwan.
 Such a cutie!

This little thing is such a cutie! sigh, blissfully gazing at him in Tamra's 16 episodes. It was too short a drama!

There's a westerner Pierre Deporte, in this drama as well.

All in all, i enjoyed the drama a lot (because of Im Ju hwan!) but the ending was poor! no explanation on many things. Things were left hanging in the air and the last episode was not good. What a spoiler! if not it would've won many many stars from me. It didn't drag  nor did it get boring at any point. I looked forward to watch every episode of it except the final episode.

There are many pretty and lovely beach and underwater scenes. It's a very refreshing drama especially with the beautiful scenery. You should watch it and not fast forward. The underwater scenes were pretty fascinating too. Some kissing scenes underwater !

Im Ju Hwan is soooo tall and the main actress, Seo Woo, is so short. It was comical when Im Ju Hwan forced a kiss on her standing up! he looked so awkwardly bent just so to reach her lips. I'm thinking that they must surely perform that scene several times for him to correctly reach her lips! Haha. Also , he had that precarious black hat on all the time, it must've taken him a while to get used to it without messing up his actions.

Conclusion: Nice, a good watch overall!

Rambling on Sum 37's secret programming essence

Ever heard of Su:M 37?
Well it's another skin care brand in Korea not at all heard of over in this side of Asia.
I stumbled across it on you tube when i was looking up on Han Hyo Joo ( my fave korean actress). She's the ambassador for this skin care line. I had to try it because of Han Hyo Joo, cray isn't it?? HAHA, i know, i know, i'm a crazy little thing for Korean dramas.

Here's the website in Korean, there's no english :-(
http://www.su-m37.co.kr/

Here's the very natural beauty with clear translucent skin, Han Hyo Joo:
pic comes from the su-m37 website

The popular item from this brand is the secret programming essence. It is a fermented essence just like SK II's infamous miracle water.
pic comes from the su-m37 website

So how does this compare to SK II's miracle water?

For me, this just applies to me, ya. I react very very badly to SK2's miracle water. i get huge cysts acne, and taut itchy skin! Haha, more like hell for me than miracle. I know many women have experienced literal miracle with this item, they claim it healed all their acne and makes their skin so soft, hydrated and smooth. But i get the total opposite. so i never dared to touch SK2 ever again.

how about Sum 37's secret Programming essence?

Ah ah ah, it's a wonder! Not a miracle but at least it is a wonder product for me. i had no reactions to it and in fact it makes my skin feel hydrated and quite soft. I like the scent and the liquid-like texture (comes with a little "slippery-ness") is easily absorbed in my skin. It doesn't break me out and it moisturises quite well. I've only been using for 2 weeks now and i must say my skin has calmed down a lot from being taut, dry and itchy.
It is not yet well hydrated but i hope with long term usage i can achieve glowing bouncy skin :-)

I think sensitive-skinned gals who did not like Sk2's miracle water should give this a go!

i was using this in conjunction with sulwhasoo's concentrated ginseng cream and both calmed my itchy skin. I tried not using the secret essence and just the ginseng cream. My skin felt less hydrated and plumped. Yup, so the secret essence does contribute to healing my skin condition, yay.

Epilogue: Found something informative on secret programming essence, here is an exerpt:

"For those of you, like me, who had never heard of Su:m, here is a bit of background. It was launched in 2007 by the LG Household Corporation (they are better known in Korea as an electronics company that makes mobile phones and television) as a high-end premium line. From what I can tell, it is intended to rival SKll.
Su:m’s schtick is that it uses plant extracts that have been fermented. The story goes that  Su:m plant extracts are fermented for 3 years, using a technique developed in Japan that involves temperatures of 37°C (hence the name Su:m 37) for 1102 days, whist having music (genre not specified) played to them. Although this seemed phenomenally silly, I decided to check up on fermenting plant extracts and see if there is anything to it."
